French Oral Proficiency

Emory French Oral Proficiency Certificate

French is widely spoken on five continents and in many countries and is among the principal languages of diplomacy and important international organizations. Emory's Certificate in French Oral Proficiency will build your foundational knowledge of the language and emphasis will be placed on conversational skills. Students will work with an experienced language instructor, as a learning partner, from the course inception through the capstone. Upon completion of all coursework, students will complete a capstone course to prepare them for the oral proficiency exam. The proficiency exam is based on criteria set by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL), which is the only national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction. Credit for previous courses may apply. Placement tests for students with some language experience will be available.
